This is a Valentine of Dundee card of the 1940`s/1950`s of Lesmahagow. It is interesting as it shows two railway viaducts. The Craighead Viaduct was built fairly late on as the viaduct was a fairly complicated undertaking. This was undertaken in the early 1400`s, the station being opened in 1905.
The Nethan is an interesting name, I am wondering whether it is connected with the old Celtic religion. Certainly a three headed Celtic sculpture was found near Garrion Bridge in the 19th century. It is in the Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow.
