This is a picture of the Glasgow Yeomanry Camp on the side of Tinto. It was issued by the Y.M.C.A. It is amazing to think that postcards were created so quickly in those days for people to send to their relatives and friends.

This is an old style cottage plus 19th century extension. These buildings were near the Thankerton Mill. This was sent on 20/7/07 Comment by ADMIN: July 2017:

   

Roberton In the foreground is the school which had up to thirty three pupils. It became a Village Hall after the closure of the school in 1969. Nearby is the back of the post office which survived till 1983.

   

Roberton This is a nice view of old Roberton including the mill and an old thatched cottage. This view dates back to about 1912.

This is a view taken at Biggar Station in 1931 of the train destined for Symington. It would be a train like the one in the photo that took Biggar High School Rugby squad to Peebles.
